Why we love this wine?

“Assunto” is Bellaria most prized Brunello. Made from 100% Sangiovese grapes hand selected from 80 + year old vines to produce a wine that is full bodied with good tannic structure and a bright acidity providing balance. A delicious Brunello aged longer than recommended, producing one of Italy’s most outstanding Brunello. The wine is big yet very elegant out very long finish on the palate.

Enjoy this wine with friends and family over great food but at same time sit back at home and revel in its complexity and finesse.

Wine lover facts:

Aroma:  Plush, assertive style of Brunello with dried blackberries, tar, asphalt, dried cloves, blueberry tart and vanilla and curry paste.

Taste: Intense ruby red in colour tending to garnet. Elegant and intense bouquet. On the palate, dry, warm, robust and persistent Full-bodied and incredibly decadent with toasted oak and meat and charred halloumi. The alcohol coats the mouth and the tannins demonstrate burly, iron-fisted character. Drink from 2026.

Grape: Sangiovese 100%

Vinification & Ageing: This wine originates from the best Sangiovese grapes produced in a 30 year-old vineyard. After the harvest the grapes go through fermentation in temperature-controlled steel vats for 20-25 days and undergo pumping over and délestage to maximize the extraction of all the structural components of the wine from the skins giving it longevity and structure.

Barrel Ageing: The wine is aged for about 30 months in small 7.50 hl French and Slavonian oak barrels from which the wine acquires its fragrances and that elegance which is expressed in the glass.

Bottle Ageing: After ageing in wood, the wine is bottled and refined for six months then released on the market not earlier than five years after the harvest.

Alcohol: 14% Vol.

Pairing: Excellent with game, roasted red meat, and aged cheese. Wine to lay down.
